About Mary Lou

The natural world and all of its wondrous diversity has always been an amazement to me; it is the inspiration for what I do. 

My art, also known as "Oshibana", is composed almost entirely from real pressed and preserved flowers and other botanicals.

When I create from these materials, I am able to connect with nature - a place that brings me joy and peace. My art helps me share that connection and convey those feelings with you. 

Through research and experimentation, I have learned the best methods of pressing and preserving the different materials I use. A special method of sealing and framing the art is the final step for protection from moisture, air, and light. These processes ensure lasting beauty of the art for many years.
